V-Bahn in Grindelwald

Zurich has The Circle, Grindelwald has the V-Bahn. After a long planning phase and construction period, the newly built V-Bahn in Grindelwald opened in December 2020. 47 minutes faster on the ski slopes. 47 minutes faster on the Jungfraujoch. V-Bahn opens in Grindelwald

From the new terminal in Grindelwald Grund, the 3S-Bahn leads to the Eiger Glacier. One year earlier, the new 10-passenger gondola lift to Männlichen had already been put into operation. This is also part of the new lift. Via Interlaken you can travel comfortably with the BOB-Berner Oberland Bahn to Grindelwald. The newly built valley station Terminal makes it possible to change trains quickly. All you have to do is decide. Take the Männlichen or the Eiger Glacier and continue on to the Jungfraujoch, the TOP of Europe and the highest railroad station in Europe. A spectacular view awaits you on both mountains in the middle of the Jungfrau region.

The V-Bahn is a generation project. Thanks to the good weather during the construction phase, the workers made rapid progress so that the last milestone has been reached with the opening of the V-Bahn in Grindelwald. This also includes the opening of the gastronomic facilities, the various stores and ski depots. The new multi-storey parking lot directly at the valley station is also in operation, so that there are also enough parking spaces for guests arriving by car.

Since the V-Bahn is open all year round, the project strengthens Swiss tourism and especially the destination of the Jungfrau region. Every season is unique in the Swiss mountain world. Nature is close enough to touch. And on the Jungfraujoch there is even ice and snow, even in the height of summer.
